Dragonball Z Movie & Specials Summaries

Movie 1: Dead Zone
(Original Air Date: 07-15-89)

In the beginning (Dragonball), Kami landed on Earth and created the 7 legendary dragonballs. To become pure of heart, the Namek separated into two forms- onegood and one evil. The evil replica had a son, who became known as Piccolo!After battling Gokou, Piccolo faced defeat. Because Piccolo and Kami are so related, they held a bond of life. When one perished, the other died as well...

Garlic Jr., a rival of Kami, decided to kill Kami through the destruction of Piccolo. As a result, at the beginning of the movie, Garlic Jr. sends his minions to kill Piccolo. After a battle, Piccolo escapes with barely his life.

Garlic Jr. decides that he must get stronger so he seeks the dragonballs to be granted the wish of immortality. Gohan, meanwhile, wore a hat that had the fourth star dragonball on it. Thus, he gets kidnapped for his hat. (He does not know how to fight at this time.) Then, Gokou goes to rescue his son with Klilyn. At Garlic Jr.'s black island, Gokou and Klilyn are joined by Piccolo. Gokou and Piccolo fight and kill Garlic Jr.'s minions. Klilyn finds Gohan and carries him and looks for a safe place to hide. Meanwhile, Kami faces Garlic Jr. and gets beat up. Gokou and Piccolo finally finds Garlic Jr., but Garlic Jr. has already been granted his wish! Garlic Jr. changes into his muscular battle form and fights Gokou and Piccolo. Gokou and Piccolo get beaten. Garlic Jr. praises how strong he's become and creates a portal that would suck everything into a world of eternal nothingness. Gohan regains consciousness and sees the threat of Garlic Jr. He gets angry and blasts Garlic Jr. through his own portal. Garlic Jr. is sucked into the dimension of nothingness and all returns to normal. At the end, Gohan forgets all that has happened and returns home with Gokou.

The first alliance between Piccolo and Gokou is shown. Gohan's secret powers are revealed for the first time.

Movie 2: World's Strongest Man
(Original Air Date: 03-10-90)

Oolong steals Bulma's Dragon Radar to locate the Dragonballs. (Oolong wants to make a wish for a girl's underwear.) He and Gohan are in the northern glaciers to find the Dragonballs, but discover that someone else has already gathered them and made a wish. Upon the wish, a lab is rebuilt. Gohan and Oolong go near the lab to investigate, but are attacked by bio-men (sort of like the Saiba-men). Piccolo rescues them, but is defeated by three androids. Meanwhile, Gohan and Oolong escape.

A few days later, an android appears in the Kame House and kidnaps Bulma. She is used to lure Master Roshi to its lab in the glaciers. In the lab, we meet Dr. Wheel. It turns out that he is a giant brain functioning inside a giant machine. 50 years ago, his he and his lab were destroyed and buried in ice. Now that they are released with the help of the Dragonballs, Dr. Wheel wants to find the strongest man on Earth and take over his body. (He believes that Master Roshi is the strongest because Master Roshi won the martial arts tourament at the time he got "iced".) Next, Master Roshi is put in a secluded room to fight the three androids that defeated Piccolo. Master Roshi is defeated.

Meanwhile, Gokou is on his way to rescue Bulma and Master Roshi. Dr. Wheel's computer picks up Gokou's signal. Bulma sees it and exclaims that Gokou is the strongest man, not Master Roshi. Dr. Wheel fights this interesting and sends his three androids to fight Gokou. Gokou fights and is joined by Gohan and Klilyn. They kill the androids and find Dr. Wheel. Here, they meet with Piccolo, who is brainwashed by some golden straps placed around his head. Gokou and Piccolo battle while Gohan tells them to stop fighting. Because Dr. Wheel brainwashed his idol (Piccolo), Gohan releases a wave of energy at Dr. Wheel in an attempt to destroy the brain. This shockwave releases Piccolo from Dr. Wheel's control. Meanwhile, Klilyn tries to rescue Bulma but ends up running from another android's machine-gun. Master Roshi escapes Dr. Wheel's prison and aids Klilyn. Bulma is freed.

With the tie of the battle turning, Dr. Wheel gets angry. It turns out that the machine Dr. Wheel is placed in is really a robot built into the lab. Dr. Wheel unleashes his body (thus destroying the lab) and begins to attack our heroes. The robot seems unable to be defeated, but Gokou creates a Genki-dama fireball and destroys Dr. Wheel.

Afterwards, the good guys stand together and joke that Master Roshi is really the world's dirtiest man.

Movie 3: Earth's Ultimate Deciding Battle
(Original Air Date: 07-07-90)

The Z crew are camping in a forest. Meanwhile, Taurus and his crew are looking for a planet with rich energy sources that can support the life of their special tree. (This tree grows by eating away the energy of the planet it grows on. Whoever eats its fruits can receive a huge amount of energy- Taurus and his crew want the power from the fruits.) One of Taurus's space probes crashes into the earth and starts a forest fire. This probe tells Taurus that Earth is a planet capable of supporting his tree. At the same time, Gohan, Klilyn, and Gokou battled the forest fire and saved the wildlife living in it. Here, Gohan saves a baby purple dragon who later becomes his pet. The Dragonballs are then used to restore the burned-out forest.

Back in the Kame House, Kaiou transmits the news of Taurus and his plot to Gokou. Gokou tells the rest of the Z crew about Taurus and they head out to destroy the energy-eating tree that has already been planted. Gokou, Gohan, Yamcha, Klilyn, Tenshin-han, and Chauzu all do fireballs against the tree, but the tree remains unharmed. The Z Warriors then encounter Taurus's minions and they battle. Piccolo joins the fight. At the end, all the Z Warriors are defeated except Gokou and Gohan. Gohan runs into Taurus and misunderstands him for his father. (Taurus and Gokou and twin brothers, except that Taurus is purple.) Taurus trashes Gohan and relizes that Gohan is a Saiyan. He asks Gohan to join him in the Saiyan Conquest, but when Gohan refuses, Taurus uses a fireball to create another moon. He forces Gohan's head to look at it and Gohan's tail grows back. As you can guess, Gohan enters his full-moon stage and begins to trash everything. Gokou, trying to get to Gohan to defend him from Taurus, is blocked by Taurus's crew. Gokou angrily kills all of them, but is too late; Gohan is another uncontrollable as full moon. Gohan sees his pet dragon and remembers who he really is; he regains control of his body as a giant ape and begins to smash Taurus. Gohan gets his tail cut off and returns into a normal boy.

Now only Gokou and Taurus remain. When Gokou refuses to join his twin brother, they fight. Taurus heads for his tree and eats one of the fruits. He receives and enormous amount of power and defeats Gokou. But, Gokou keeps telling himself that he must save the earth so he cannot die. As a result, he creates a Genki-dama, which blasts Taurus through the tree. Both Taurus and his tree and detroyed. Upon the tree's destruction, energy is released are restores the damamge it has created.

Movie 4: The Super Saiyan, Gokou
(Original Air Date: 03-19-91)

Gohan and his new dragon pet are showing Piccolo a dance, but Piccolo seems to weaken upon hearing Gohan whistle and tells them to stop. Meanwhile, the TV broadcasts that a planet is about to collide with the Earth. Gokou and Klilyn fly and shoot fireballs at the approaching planet, hoping to deflect the planet off its collision course, but fail. The planet crashes into the Earth anyway, but it turns out to be a spaceship instead. Aliens march out of the ship and demand that the Earthlings leave the planet in three days, or else! The humans laugh and are attacked. A satellite is launched and the sun is blocked. Thus, the Earth begins to freeze. The commander of the ship is Slug, who learns about the dragonballs and wishes back his youth.

Yajirobe finds Gokou and Klilyn, who survived, and feeds them senzu beans. Meanwhile, Gohan attacks the aliens. Eventually, Gohan gets beat up and Piccolo appears. Piccolo once again protects Gohan by shielding him from an enemy fireball. Both get beaten down. Klilyn and Gokou appear at the scene. Slug comes out of his ship and shoots a fireball in it to destroy all his cowardly minions who ran from Gokou. Slug then takes off his helmet and reveals that he is a Namek like Piccolo. Kaiou mentally tells Gokou that Slug is a Super Namek. Both Klilyn and Gokou get beat up by Slug. Gokou gets angry and powers up incredibly. Kaiou wonders if Gokou is the Super Saiyan. Slug gets beaten, but powers up as well and grows in size. Once again, Gokou gets pounded. Piccolo reaches for Gokou's hand and holds it as he transfers his energy to Gokou. With new strength, Gokou flys through Slug. Next, he flies up to destroy Slug's satellite, but Slug survived Gokou's punch and is flying up to finish off Gokou. Gokou then gathers energy from the sun to create a Genki Dama. This fireball destroys both Slug and his satellite. Yajirobe appears again and gives senzu beans to all our beaten heroes.

Movie 5: Strongest Vs. Strongest/ Battle of the Strongest
(Original Air Date: 07-20-91)

Coola, Freeza's older brother, learns that his brother was killed by a Saiyan. Hence, Coola flies to Earth to kill Gokou. He boasts that he will kill Gokou not for the revenge of Freeza, but for the termination of all Saiyans.

Gokou gets blasted in the back and is severly injured. Klilyn hides with Gokou in a cave as Coola's minions look for Gokou. Gohan rides off on his dragon's back to Karin Tower to get senzu beans. On his way back, Gohan gets discovered and is attacked. Piccolo appears and defends Gohan again. Coola's minions are killed (but Gohan and Klilyn are also beaten in the fight), but Coola appears and beats Piccolo. Gokou heals after eating the senzu bean Gohan brought back. He and Coola fight. Coola transforms into a more powerful body and beats Gokou. Gokou gets angry and reaches Super Saiyan form. Coola launches a fireball at Gokou, but Gokou deflects fireballs back at Coola and Coola is blown into the sun.

Movie 6: Crash: The Ten-Billion Power Fighters/ MetallicCoola
(Original Air Date: 03-07-92)

A spaceship lands of Planet Namek and begins devouring it. The Nameks ask Dende for help, and Dende asks the Z Warriors for help. Master Roshi, Oolong, Yajirobe, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, Klilyn, and Gokou travel to Namek.

Namek seems to have been invaded by robots. A metallic Coola appears (now with the ability to regenerate and rebuild himself after damage). Gokou battles this Coola while the others battle the robots. Vegeta appears and assists Gokou. All the others except Piccolo have been captured by the robots. After a long, enduring battle in Super Saiyan form, Gokou and Vegeta finally destroy Coola. Sounds are heard, and thousands of other Coolas appear over the cliff. They tell that the Coola they just killed is just another model and can easily be rebuilt. Gokou and Vegeta are shocked and also get captured. Inside, they see the real Coola, who is now a giant head attached to the spaceship invading the planet. He explains that when Gokou blasted him into the sun, he attached with advanced technical parts flowing in space and the spaceship (him) was formed. He plans to capture Namek to power his ship. Gokou and Vegeta and tied up, but they reach Super Saiyan mode anyway in hope of overloading the ship with power. Meanwhile, Piccolo enters the ship and rescues his comrades. (Gokou and Vegeta were held in a different room.) Gokou gathers some energy in his hand and attacks the real Coola. Coola explodes, and so does the ship. Piccolo and the the others managed to escape in time, but they mourn the loss of Gokou and Vegeta. It turns out that Gokou and Vegeta survived the explosion, and are blown to where their friends await them.

Movie 7: Battle to the Limits: The Three Super Saiyans
(Original Air Date: 07-11-92)

When Dr. Gero was killed by Android 17, he had three other androids stored in the floor below. His death brought to the life Androids 13, 14, and 15 (androids with the sole purpose to destroy Gokou)!

Gokou and his friends are at a mall. Everyone is eating lunch. Meanwhile, Androids 14 and 15 enter the mall and destroy everything in their path. Together, they do a fireball and destroy the portion of the mall where Gokou is. Gokou and his friends carry all the civilians away from the explosion to safety. Gokou encounters Androids 14 and 15 and they battle. Trunks joins the battle. Gokou and Trunks lure the androids to the glaciers so that no civilian would get hurt. (Gohan and Klilyn follow as well, but they only hide and watch.) There, Android 13 makes his appearance. Piccolo and Vegeta also enter the battle. Trunks destroys Android 14 and Vegeta destroys Android 15. However, components from these androids flow up and combine with Android 13's body. Android 13 morphs into a super android and beats up everyone. Finally, Gokou creates a Genki Dama and uses the fireball's energy to kill the android. After his death, Dr. Gero's computer shuts down.

Movie 8: Bring Your Spirit to the Max:
The Dangerous Bloody Battle
(Original Air Date: 03-06-93)

Gokou and Chi-Chi are at an interview to get Gohan into a good school. Kaiou teleports Gokou a message to teleport to his planet at once. Meanwhile, Gokou's friends are at a picnic. A spaceship lands and Paragus comes out to seek Vegeta. Paragus tells Vegeta that his is a Saiyan and is working to create Planet New Vegeta. He tells that he wants Vegeta to rule this new planet, but there is a Legendary Super Saiyan that remains a threat. Vegeta falls for the lie and goes to "New Vegeta". Trunks, Gohan, Klilyn, Master Roshi, and Oolong follow as well. At Kaiou's planet, Kaiou also tells Gokou about the Legendary Super Saiyan, and Gokou teleports to "New Vegeta" as well.

As days pass by, our heroes learn that Paragus's son, Brolly, is the Legendary Super Saiyan. Paragus wanted revenge on Vegeta because Vegeta's father sentenced him and his son, Brolly (an infant at the time), to death and their bodies were dumped as trash. When Planet Vegeta exploded, Brolly's strength saved them. Brolly was executed because Vegeta's father feared the baby's great power and did not want a threat in the future. As for Brolly, he is a maniac. Paragus put special bracelets and necklaces on him to control his son. Brolly also has a grudge against Gokou; he was born on the same day as Gokou and naturally hated him.

Brolly turns into his Super Saiyan form and breaks free of Paragus's control over him. Brolly trashes everyone. Piccolo also arrived to battle, but was trashed as well. Meanwhile, Paragus tried to escape the planet because he knew Brolly is a maniac and will kill everyone he sees. Brolly spots Paragus inside a space-pod and crushes the pod; thus killing his father. No one is able to defeat Brolly and are all out of strength. Gokou tells his comrades to give him their strength. Everyone except Vegeta face their hands to Gokou and do this. This power is still not enough to defeat Brolly. Finally, Vegeta donates his energy as well. With this new strength, Gokou kills Brolly in one punch. The planet explodes, but not before Gokou teleports all his friends to a spaceship heading back to Earth.

Movie 9: The Strongest Man in the Universe
(Original Air Date: 07-10-93)

Our heroes are fighting in a Tenkaichi Boukaidou tournament. The winners, which includes Klilyn, Trunks, and Gohan, are to enter special battle stages to battle Sataan's disciples.

Sataan's disciples were all killed and replaced by Bojack's minions. Klilyn ecounters Sangya and gets up beat by her. Trunks encounters Gokua and kills him, but then gets beaten by Bojack. Gohan encounters Puujin and battles him. (The other two contestants in the tournament were killed.) Now, Gohan is alone to battle Bojack and his minions.

Tenshin-han and Yamcha fly to help, but quickly get beat unconscious. Gohan continues the battle to protect the Earth from conquest himself. Vegeta and Piccolo appear and join the battle. Trunks regains consciousness and also joins the battle. Gohan's comrades are all beaten and Gohan is left to battle alone again. Gohan is is losing badly. Gokou sees this from Kaiou's planet and teleports to Earth to save his son. After a punch to Bojack, Gokou frees Gohan from Bojack's bear-hug. He tells Gohan that he must save the Earth. Afterwards, Gokou fades back to Kaiou's planet. Gohan hears his father as he regains consciousness and feels his inner strength. He reaches his Super Saiyan 2 mode and becomes immune to Bojack's minions' attacks. Puujin and Bidou and quickly killed by Gohan. Sangya becomes frightened and Bojack fires a fireball through her to try to kill Sangya and Gohan in one shot. Sangya is killed for her cowardness, but Gohan survives the blast. He punches Bojack once and Bojack dies. At the end, Sataan takes credit for saving the Earth again.

Movie 10: Dangerous Pair:
Super Fighters Cannot Sleep
(Original Air Date: 03-12-94)

Goten, Trunks, and Videl are gathering the dragonballs. Goten wants to wish for tons of junk food and cakes. Trunks wants to wish that he could ride on rides whenever he wants. Videl just wants to see Shenlong for the first time. At the same time, something- Brolly, survivor of the battle in Movie 9,- crashes to Earth...

Goten, Trunks, and Videl encounter a village that is terrorized by a monster. They agree that if they vanquish the beast they would get Kitou-shi (the village omen teller)'s dragonball. Goten and Trunks have fun killing the monster and receive the dragonballs. Videl is surprised at the young boys' power. The village and our heroes have a feast eating the monster. Meanwhile, Brolly is recovering from the battle against Gokou. Upon thinking about Gokou, he gets angry and reaches Super Saiyan form. He breaks free from the water crystals that developed on him and awakens for revenge.

Videl encounters Brolly and gets beat up. Brolly sees Goten and thinks that he is Gokou and a long battle starts. Goten and Trunks find the last dragonball in battle and Goten gathers it as Trunks distracts Brolly. Goten has all the dragonballs, but doesn't know how to summon Shenlong to save them from Brolly. Gohan senses Brolly and quickly races to join the battle. Gohan tricks Brolly into getting devoured by lava, and Klilyn (dressed up as Piccolo for fun) rescues Gohan from the approaching lava. But, Brolly survives the lava and beats everyone up. At the end, Brolly has a fireball match against Gohan and Goten. (Here, the dragonballs in Goten's bag fall out and connect in a row.) Goten says that he wishes his father was here to help. Gokou appears out of nowhere and aids his sons in the fireball match. Trunks throws another fireball at Brolly. Brolly is distracted and deflects away Trunks's fireball, only to let Gokou, Gohan, and Goten's fireballs blow him into the sun. Peace is restored. The dragonballs disperse. Klilyn askes why everyone forgot about him.

Movie 11: Super Fighter Shootout: I Will Win
(Original Air Date: 07-01-94)

Android 18 is at Sataan's house demanding for the money Sataan promised to give her for letting him win a Tenkaichi Boukaidou contest. Then, one of Sataan's disciple's minion arrives and blackmails Sataan. He states that if Saatan doesn't go with him to fight (test) some bio-warriors, he will tell the press that Sataan wet his bed up to the 6th grade. Android 18 tags along to follow Sataan and Goten and Trunks hide in the trunk of the car to secretly follow.

Goten, Trunks, and Android 18 easily trash the bio-warriors. The battle room opens to reveal a bio-warrior creation laboratory. Goten and Trunks explore and fight a shocking experiment- the creation of a clone of Brolly! (Kitou-shi of Movie 10 had taken samples of Brolly's blood and sold them to the lab for money. Brolly's DNA was studied and now Brolly was cloned.) Goten and Trunks attempt to do fireballs to destroy the developing creation, but Brolly awakens too early. Much fighting occurs. Chemicals pour over the Brolly clone so that the clone now looks like he's melting. Trunks tricks Brolly into melting into the chemicals. Much of the lab is destroyed, and most of the employees of the lab are killed in the spilling chemicals. At the end, Goten, Trunks, Android 18, Klilyn, Sataan, and a few scientists escape from the lab. Our heroes observe that water hardens the chemicals that are pouring over the city-island. Goten, Trunks, and Klilyn fly up and go fireballs on the sea. The sea water splashes over the island and the city is saved. The Brolly clone, now bigger that ever because the chemicals combined with his chemical body, appears out of the sea. After giving everyone a scare, the clone hardens. Goten and Trunks destroy the stiff clone. There is peace again, but Sataan is trying to swim home rather than having to pay Android 18 for rescuing him.

Movie 12: Fusion: Gokou and Vegeta
(Original Air Date: 03-??-95)

Gokou and Paiku-han are fighting in a Tenkaichi Boudoukai contest in heaven. Dai-Kaiou wanted to see who was the strongest dead fighter. Meanwhile, King Yama is sending people to heaven or hell. A teenager is responsible for running the machine that cleanses the souls of those going to hell, but he is too busy dancing to his walkman to notice that the machine is in the danger zone. The machine explodes and the evil escapes. It takes over the teenager's body and the two become a big fat yellow creature, Janenba. Janenba twists the fabric of space for fun; King Yama and his building become trapped in a sphere and all the dead return to Earth.

Dai-Kaiou suspends the tournament and send Gokou and Paiku-han to investigate the problem. The two find King Yama trapped in the sphere. Paiku-han is left to try to free King Yama while Gokou goes to fight Janenba. Paiku-han learns that the sphere can only be broken by screaming insults at it, so he does so. Janenba sees Gokou and becomes to create little replicas of himself to attack Gokou for entertainment. Gokou becomes angry at Janenba's games and reaches his Super Saiyan 3 form. Janenba is smashed into a glob. However, he survives and re-oozes himself into a stronger, more serious purple form. On Earth, the dead are plaguing the people. Gohan and Videl encounter Freeza and all the villains from the previous movies. Gohan quickly kills Freeza and all the other villains run away in fear. Goten and Trunks are elsewhere battling Hitler's giant army brought back to life.

Back in heaven, Gokou is getting beaten by Janenba. Vegeta, who was also brought back to life, appears and rescues Gokou. He too gets creamed. Gokou and Vegeta hide and Gokou suggests that the only way to beat Janenba is to fuse. After a while of convincing Vegeta to fuse, Gokou teaches Vegeta the technique. The two fuse, but the result, Gozita, was fat because Vegeta accidently bent his pinky during fusion. Gozita spends his time running away from Janenba, but fisses back into Gokou and Vegeta. Paiku-han appears and distracts Janenba while Gokou and Vegeta attempt to fuse again. The fusion is perfect and Gozita easily beats the evil out of Janenba. Janenba is restored into the teenager. On Earth, Goten and Trunks fuse and Gotenks beats all of Hitler's army. All the dead return to heaven or hell.

Movie 13: Exploding Dragon Fist:
If Gokou Can't Do It, Who Can?
(Original Air Date: 07-15-95)

Long ago, little evil magicians used black magic to bring a statue to life. The evil statue became Hirudegarn. Hirudegarn terrorized the planet, and only 2 whistles could control it. Tapion and Minosha, his brother, each played the whistles. While Hirudegarn calmed, a priest cut the monster into two halves. The top half was absorbed into Tapion's body, and the bottom half into Minosha's. Each person was sealed into a box never to be opened so that the monster will never escape, and sent away in space. Years later, Hoi, one of the evil magicians, found one of the boxes and opened it. The bottom half of Hirudegarn was let out and killed Minosha. Now, Hoi seeks the other box to re-unleash Hirudegarn...

The Great Saiyan-man team (Gohan and Videl) receive news that a man is about to suicide. The team comes to the rescue and the man is brought down. He tells that it was only an attempt to get the team's attention. Then he tells that he wants a box opened because a hero is trapped inside and is needed to fight a great evil. The box is brought to Bulma's house. After no one is able to open the box successfully, the Z cast agree to gather the dragonballs to wish for the box to open. This is done and Tapion is releashed. Tapion says nothing except that he is the evil.

Trunks admires Tapion and wants him to act like his brother. After bringing food to Tapion everyday, Trunks is still ignored by Tapion. One day, Hoi runs in and snatches Tapion's flute. Trunks helps get it back and everyone learns that Hoi is evil. Tapion decides to talk to the others after seeing Trunks help him. At night, Bulma asks him why he's not sleeping and Tapion tells her his story. If he sleeps, the monster inside him might escape.

Bulma builds a special room for Tapion to sleep so that the monster can't escape. But, the monster escapes anyway due to Hoi's magic. The next day, the Hirudegarn's lower body combines with his upper body and the monster becomes whole again. Hoi tries to control Hirudegarn, but the monster just steps on and kills him. A battle follows, and our heroes are losing. As the city gets trashed, Goten and Trunks fuse. Super Saiyan level 3 Gotenks attacks Hirudegarn. Hirudegarn stiffens like a rock. Then, a winged Hirudegarn emerges from the cocoon. Tapion attempts to use his whistle to calm the monster, but the whistle shatters. Everyone is beaten, except Gokou. Gokou repeatedly tells himself, "If I can't do it..." Finally, Gokou jumps up and uppercuts his dragon fist on Hirudegarn. A golden dragon engulfs the monster and destroys it.

With Hirudegarn destroyed and peace restored, Bulma makes Tapion a time machine. Tapion gives Trunks's his sword as a gift since he won't be needing it anymore, and travels back to the time when he was shot into space. (In the ending song of this movie, we see Future Trunks use the same sword that was given by Tapion.)

Bardock

Years ago, Freeza took over the Saiyan planet and used its inhabitants, the Saiyans, to act as mecenaries to destroy other planets. On one battle, Bardock is with his teammates and wipes out another planet. But, Tooro, a surviving member of the dying planet, curses Bardock with the ability to see his cursed future. Tooro is killed and Bardock recovers back in the Saiyan planet. Meanwhile, Bardock's son, Kakarot, is born. In addition, Freeza begins to grow tired of seeing the Saiyans as one of his henchmen avises that the Saiyans can become a threat when banded together. At this time, Vegeta is a kid and has a high energy level for his age. He asks Freeza to send him to another planet to destroy and leaves with Nappa.

As Bardock recovered, his teammates leave to destroy another planet without him. After regaining consciousness, Bardock learns what has happened and leaves to join his teammates. At the planet, all goes normal until Bardock sees his teammates dead. A dying Saiyan is found by Bardock. From him, Bardock learns of Freeza's plot to destroy the Saiyan planet. Next, Bardock encounters some of Freeza's henchmen and fights. But, Bardock sees his son growing up in his head and loses concentration. Despite the headache, Bardock manages to defeat all the henchmen except for Dodoria. Dodoria blows a single fireball and defeats Bardock. Meanwhile, Kakarot is sent to the planet Earth to destroy it when he grows up.

Bardock survives, but is severely injured. Despite this, he travels back to the planet Vegeta to warn the other Saiyans of Freeza's plot. Bardock finds and tells his comrades, but the Saiyans think of the plot as a joke and mock Bardock. Bardock is angry and decides that he must change the future... alone. Freeza's spaceship approaches and Bardock flies toward it in rage. (Meanwhile, Coola's ship flies away on the other side.) Hundreds of Freeza's henchmen are despatched from his ship and attack Bardock. Bardock defeats those who fly at him. Freeza exits his ship and laughes at Bardock. Bardock does his final fireball in an attempt to destroy Freeza and alter the fate of his planet. Freeza laughes some more and easily creates a super fireball. His fireball overwhelms Bardock's fireball and continues flying towards the Saiyan planet. Bardock, the planet Vegeta, and all in its path (including Freeza's henchmen who were sent to destroy Bardock) are destroyed. Bardock sees the future one last time before he dies. He sees his planet get destroyed... He sees his son growing up... And he sees a grown up Kakarot encounter Freeza... And dies a happy death...

Vegeta and Nappa were at another planet at the time, so they survive. They are told that their planet was hit by a meteor and destroyed, but Vegeta gives no signs of concern. Kakarot's two other brother (Rabitz and Taurus) were also elsewhere and survive. As for Kakarot, he lands on planet Earth and is found by Son Gohan. Gohan adopts Kakarot and names his new grandson Gokou.

Thus, begins the magnificient story of Dragonball...

In a different timeline...


Androids 17 and 18 were released. Android 17 killed Dr. Gero and began the androids began their reign of terror. Gokou faced the androids, but suffered a heart attack. Without the proper medicine, Gokou died. Without Gokou, the Z warriors were too weak to stand a chance against the androids. In turn, Vegeta, Yamcha, Tenshin-han, can Klilyn were killed in battle. Chaos wrecked everywhere. Cities were destroyed by the androids just for the fun of it. Many were killed without reason.


A few years later...


Trunks is now a teenager and Gohan is grown up. Master Roshi, his turtle, and Oolong spent their days hiding in a submarine. Chi-Chi and the Ox-King lived in fear and mourn over Gokou. Bulma learned how to live the terrible environment and goes about his everyday business. Anroids 17 and 18 continue to destroy everything in their path. Their victims tried calling the army, but the federal troops have already been killed by the androids.

Trunks is riding home with Bulma. There is a radio report about another disaster the androids caused. Trunks becomes angered with rage at such injustice. He flies off to the devastated city and anger continues to build because he knows there is nothing he can do; he knows that he is too weak to fight the androids. Gohan descends in front of Trunks and agrees to train Trunks. The two head back to Bulma's house.

Gohan and Trunks spend days in training. Gohan is trying to teach Trunks how to reach Super Saiyan level, but Trunks cannot, despite all his anger. Trunks gets distressed, but Gohan continues to encourage Trunks. Meanwhile, Androids 17 and 18 continue their destruction over the world.

Gohan and Trunks decide to face the androids. Gohan is standing up against Android 17, but Trunks is getting kicked around by Android 18. Gohan flies over to aid Trunks and has to fight both androids now. The androids throws huge fireballs at Gohan and Trunks and fly away. Gohan wakens and struggles to get his body over to the unconsicous Trunks. Gohan is badly injured and lost an arm in battle. Gohan finally reaches Trunks, struggles to get to his bag of senzu beans, and discovers that there is only one piece left. He feeds it into Trunks' mouth and collapses. Trunks awakens and quickly gets Gohan back to Bulma.

Gohan recovers, but is missing a limb now. He continues to train Trunks, but Trunks still cannot reach Super Saiyan level. Days go by, and the androids are still a menace in endangering the Earth.

Gohan and Trunks decide to face the androids again. Trunks feels ready to go, but Gohan hits him behind his neck and knocks him out. Gohan knows that Trunks is still not ready, and goes to fight Androids 17 and 18 himself.

Trunks awakens and discovered what has happened. He quickly flies over to the city the Androids were in. The city is destroyed, and Gohan is lying on the ground... dead. There is a storm. Rain is falling hard. Trunks looks at the dead Gohan and becomes enraged. He screams and finally reaches Super Saiyan level.

Trunks decides to fight the androids again and encounters them. He quickly discovers that even though he is in Super Saiyan form, he is still no match against Androids 17 and 18. The androids kick Trunks around and everything slowly goes blank.

Trunks awakens to find himself bandaged in his bed. Bulma had taken his body home. Bulma tells Trunks that she has been working on a time machine and tells Trunks to go back in time to before Gokou got his heart attack. Bulma gives him heart attack medicine for Gokou to prevent his death so that the whole future would change. Trunks agrees. He gets in the time machine capsule that has the word "Hope" painted on it and travels to the past. Bulma waves goodbye and wishes him good luck.
